“Thank you very much for all your help with the paper lanterns for our Student Awards evening. We had lots of comments on the night saying how lovely they looked! They really brought the decor together and transformed our on campus restaurant into a cosy and stylish venue. The staff at Kings Restaurant have decided to leave the lanterns up as they like them so much!”
Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne, celebrated their students’ success and kicked off the New Year in style with their 2015 awards hosted and presented by local radio star – Heart FM’s Lynsey Bartlett!
Guests were welcomed to a 2-course meal at the King’s Restaurant & Bistro, onsite, whilst students provided entertainment including live music, acting performances and art work displays. A range of awards were presented including Most Improved, Apprentice of the Year, Exceptional Achievement, International Student of the Year, Sporting Excellence plus many more, however the highlight was the much awaited Student of the Year and Principals Choice.
To reflect this lavish style of event the committee designed black decal invitations with yellow and gold writing which set the colour scheme for the whole evening. With a modern, newly purpose built venue the team wanted to reflect this by using contemporary decorations which complemented the surrounding site….. and that is where The Hanging Lantern Company stepped in. After researching images online and falling in love with the idea of hanging paper lanterns, the lead co-ordinator, Lucy, contacted our hanging lantern events team to arrange a consultation and a few days later visited our Uckfield showroom armed with images, ideas and invitations. Natalie talked them through suitable sizes, quantity, how to install the lanterns and finally helped to match the paper lanterns with the invitations, settling on a combination of light yellow, black and dove grey with gold accents.
