“Natalie was an enormous help in the months leading up to the wedding. While we dithered over colour schemes, pondered over sizes and wondered how to hang and illuminate the lanterns, she was endlessly patient and always full of great ideas. Eventually we chose just three colours – and cream – in various sizes. 

A lot of people say that it doesn’t matter if it rains on your wedding day. Well, they’re wrong. Waking up on the 24th May to grey clouds and a steady stream of rain was pretty depressing. The rain fell relentlessly all morning, added to which we had a three-hour power cut – pretty unnerving when you have caterers, lighting guys, a band and DJ all trying to set up.

However, decorating the marquee was exactly the distraction we all needed whilst we waited for the rain to abate (which it finally did – thankfully!). We had to unpack and assemble hundreds of coloured paper lanterns and fit them all with LED Buttonlites that would be switched on later.

Then we had our marquee man up and down ladders for a couple of hours suspending our beautiful hanging lanterns at random intervals and heights. The end result was terrific and much-admired by our guests.”
