Ladies Day at Plumpton Racecourse, May 2014, was a great day for racing for the whole family. For a little glitz and glamour though many chose to enjoy the races from the lantern decorated marquee by the last fence.
Natalie worked closely with Allison at Plumpton Racecourse to design a lantern canopy for their large 40m marquee – after falling in love with the pictures of a previous professional installation of paper lanterns it was agreed that bold, brightly coloured round lanterns in a mixture of small, medium and large sizes would be needed to create impact in amongst the swags. 75 white, orange and turquoise hanging lanterns were suspended at varying heights from the marquee lining using fishing line and crocodile clips.
“We wanted to use hanging lanterns as decorations in our marquee for our Ladies Day event. Natalie came over and advised us on the quantity and size of coloured paper lanterns that would best suit our theme. The paper lanterns arrived promptly and the finished effect was exactly what we were looking for. We will certainly use the coloured hanging lanterns again for future events.”
