Alex and Lee celebrated their wedding with freidns and family and decorated with our brightly coloured paper lanterns and festoon lights.
"We had such an amazing day and we were so chuffed with how the room looked. The Hanging Lantern Company had been recommended by friends of ours who'd ordered lanterns for their wedding 4 years ago in Durham. They had deep blue and burgundy which matched their scheme and looked lovely.
We'd decided that we didn't want too rigid a colour scheme and instead wanted lots of colour. We also wanted it to feel informal and personal and also "handmade". We definitely didn't want "corporate" or stuffy but, at the same time, we wanted it to feel special.
Lee is a graphic designer and had designed our invitations and "save the dates" with lots of colourful dots and it looked great. So we wanted to follow that theme through and have lots of "splashes" of bright colours everywhere - and the coloured paper lanterns were the perfect way of doing this! We've been together for 12 years and it was just a real happy celebration with everyone we love in one room.
To be honest we'd seen how other couples had decorated the hall and thought "wow, we'll never be able to do it as well as they have!", but I think we pretty good job and the hall looked stunning with the lanterns, and lights. The hall was lovely but it really needed the splash of colour to brighten it up and the lanterns became a big talking point.
