"After the proposal at the end of July we decided we wanted to get married in the church we were both christened in and then we wanted to have the reception at home in one of our paddocks as it has an amazing view and we could do exactly what we wanted at home with no restrictions. So it was either we wait until the next summer or do it before the weather gets too bad......so we decided to go for it and planned the entire wedding in 6 1/2 weeks!
Grey is my favourite colour and it was the automatic choice for our wedding, I love beiges, creams, whites and greys together. I had been looking for somewhere that sold grey paper lanterns as all the high street shops didn’t do them and a google search led me to The Hanging Lantern Company! After explaining my vision and advising of the size of the marquee I was provided with a quotation for the number of lanterns I would need to create the look I wanted as well as hanging instructions.
The lanterns looked amazing on the day and transformed the marquee. I don’t think anyone really understood my vision until they saw them. The wedding had a relaxed, intimate, country rustic theme and I had a taupe coloured lace dress, the groom was in country tweed, the bridesmaids were in beautiful grey dresses, we had straw bale sofas and pallets, live music, paella and lots of prosecco from our own converted horse trailer bar......painted grey of course! And we have now decided to start a little business with the bar so it is now available to hire!
