ZSL Whipsnade Zoo Lanterns

Ever wondered what the animals at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo get up to after dark? For one night only this summer (June 21st 2014), the public found out at their “Big Night Out”! 

It was a fun-filled enjoyable summer evening packed with fascinating animal talks, live music acts, exciting entertainment and fantastic demonstrations; the Asian elephant herd strolled around the zoo, the sealions showed off their acrobatic skills, and to top it off there was a delicious BBQ and circus acts for the visitors.

To illuminate the walkways around the zoo, Whipsnade hung our medium and large outdoor lanterns from mains powered festoon lighting. A mixed palette of white, green, red, orange and purple lanterns were hung in sequence and illuminated by light bulbs to ensure the guests could enjoy all the zoo had to offer as the sun set on an exciting evening.
