Wedding Lanterns at Buxted Park Hotel

  • Wedding Lanterns at Buxted Park Hotel

Christmas and New Year sees over 30% of couples getting engaged, whilst 30% get engaged over Valentine’s, and 2015 will see our very own member of staff get married!

Jen and Adam will be celebrating their nuptials with family and friends at Buxted Park Hotel, East Sussex this August underneath a canopy of paper hanging lanterns. Jen actually located The Hanging Lantern Company long before she came to work for us and chose a range of purple paper lanterns to set the scheme for the day as it’s her favourite colour. To complement the ‘on trend’ regal toned paper lanterns she will be mixing in some lighter lavender and brighter violet lanterns. She has also planned to dot the odd vintage lace lantern in amongst the colour.

“We met in the summer of 2010 through a friend on a night out in Brighton, Adam wasn’t the usual type I go for but my best friend persuaded me to go on a date with him, it took him about 4 months before he actually asked me out and we were official.

The proposal was on Christmas day 2013, it was the first Christmas in our new flat, we were sat around the tree and opening presents, the last of my presents was a pack of playing cards made into a little book which had on the front ’50 things I love about you’. I sat and flipped through each card, they were all so sweet, some even made me cry (in a good way) and the last page said ‘so that leaves me with one last thing to say’ and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, of course the answer was YES!

I had hinted at rings I like, but Adam went out and chose the final design and I couldn’t be happier, the boy did good ;)

We looked round quite a few venues and while there were a few we liked, Buxted Park Hotel won it for us just because it looks so beautiful inside and out with lots of garden for stunning photos and is very spacious as has different rooms we can use. We also got a special offer package which included so much more than any of the other venues we had also looked at. I can’t wait to get married there, the staff are so helpful and I know they will be amazing on our big day, and the grandness of the building will really go with our overall theme”.
