Olivia really had her hands full planning her summer 2014 wedding – she lived in New Zealand but the wedding was due to be held in Wales!

The bride and groom had a traditional marquee measuring 40ft by 80ft and selected a few images from our Inspiration Area that they loved so Aimee could draw up some suggestions on sizes, numbers and colour combinations.

Olivia’s bridesmaids were in dusky teal dresses but liked the idea of having a few different shades of the colour. We decided on soft ivory paper lanterns interspersed with teal and tiffany blue hanging lanterns. 50% of the lanterns were ivory to keep the overall effect muted and romantic. The different shades of rich teal and soft tiffany hung at different heights injected a little colour to tie the whole theme of the day together. 

When setting up her lanterns Olivia used our purpose designed clips attached to the marquee lining and worked from the centre of the marquee outwards. The coloured lanterns were clustered tighter down the central ridge of the marquee with them becoming fewer and further between towards the outer walls.
